  • Our consultant spent a few days at the manufacturing facility observing working practices, meeting with key personnel and reviewing documentation and records.
  • A comprehensive report was prepared for the company that highlighted the gaps and the actions that were required to ensure legal compliance.

  • As a result of the report the company decided to employ a full time dedicated Health and Safety Officer.
Health and Safety Legislation

Our client had an extensive program for auditing their various manufacturing facilities worldwide to ensure that their food safety standards were continuously improved. The client required external support to carry out some of these audits and BIZRISK were contracted to undertake a number of audits on behalf of the company.

  • We carried out audits to the company standards, held opening and closing audit meetings with site personnel and provided detailed written audit reports to the company corporate food safety specialists.
Manufacturing Site Food Safety Audits – International Food Manufacturer

Our client was instigating an NVQ up-skilling program for its factory based employees at its Northumberland site and wanted to include a considerable food safety element to the NVQ.

BIZRISK were selected to develop a one day bespoke food safety and food safety auditing training course for the client that was highly tailored to meet their needs.

 

  • Following an initial meeting to understand the scope of the project BIZRISK prepared the one-day training program ensuring the course was highly practical to keep the candidates fully engaged.
  • The course involved the candidates going into the factory to carry out a food safety audit and preparing a report for management.
  • Competence tests were built into the training course all of which formed part of the candidate’s portfolios towards their NVQ.
  • A timetable was agreed to train out the relevant personnel and this involved our consultants/trainers delivering the course to correspond with factory shift patters, eg early mornings, afternoon and late shifts, hence minimizing the disruption to the factory operation.

Our client is a well – established company that installs plumbing and heating systems for Executive new housing build programs. They wanted to develop a safety management system to ensure they were complying with their health and safety legal obligations and customer standards and wanted external support for health and safety.

BIZRISK were asked to provide this service.

  • We developed a bespoke health and safety management system that is regularly reviewed
  • Carry out relevant training and safety briefings

Safety Management System and Ongoing Safety Support – Ellis & Turner Ltd

A haulage company who deliver materials to construction sites was being asked by site foremen to provide method statements and risk assessments to cover their haulage activities.

 

The company took the safety of their employees and other personnel very seriously and asked BIZRISK to assist them with this process.

  • Following an initial meeting to fully understand the activities, hazards, risks and scope of works we prepared draft method statements and risk assessments for review by the client.
  • After this review our consultant accompanied the haulier as an observer on an actual job to verify that the risk assessment and method statements were a true and accurate reflection of the work undertaken and that the haulier was operating safely and in accordance with the prepared documents.
  • The final documents were verified and signed off by both the client and the consultant.
  • The client was issued with 2 sets of controlled documents, one of which will be retained in the vehicle for inspection by site personnel if requested.
  • BIZRISK will carry out a full review of the method statement and risk assessment 12 months after issue.
Method Statements & Risk Assessments – Mike Davies Haulage Ltd

Our client wanted to ensure that the general risk assessments for their various UK offices were suitable and sufficient and that appropriate control measures were in place to manage the risks.

We were asked to visit a number of Anders Elite offices in the UK, meet with the office safety representatives and carry out general risk assessments for the facility and the activities.
